President Trump says a deal with Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz has been largely negotiated.

Moments ago on his truth social, Trump said final details of a peace deal are being discussed and will be announced shortly.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in Orange County, California,

after a tank full of a highly flammable industrial chemical showed signs of flailing.

Jill Repulgulgol reports.

The chemical in the tank is called methyl-metachrylate, or MMA.

It's used in manufacturing plastics.

Exposure to MMA can cause skin and eye irritation and respiratory and nervous system problems.

Officials have been trying to cool the tank holding thousands of gallons of the chemical.

They had made some progress, but warned Saturday that tank temperatures were again rising,

increasing pressure

in the tank. If the tank explodes, it could cause a fireball and chemical fallout over the

densely populated area. If it cracks, the toxin could leak into storm drains and out to the ocean.

Officials say they are working around the clock to prevent both scenarios. For NPR news,

The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says about $319 million is needed to respond to the Ebola outbreak affecting Central Africa.

That's more than what's been mobilized so far. NPR's Jonathan Lambert reports more than 800 people are sick and at least 180

deaths are suspected. The outbreak is centered in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but three new cases

in Uganda were confirmed today, underlining the risk to the region. Africa CDC Director
