Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Janine Hurst. A first round of mediated, indirect talks

between the U.S. and Iran ended in Oman today. Iran's foreign minister says the two sides

discuss the lifting of American sanctions on the today. Iran's foreign minister says the two sides discussed the lifting of

Iran's foreign minister Abbas Arakchi said that the indirect talks between his country and the

atmosphere. In a statement, he said that the two sides agreed to continue talks next week.

Arakchi said that the heads of each delegation met face to face for, quote, a few minutes
