Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Janine Hurst. Two big rulings were handed down today in New York

legal actions against former President Donald Trump, and peers Andrea Bernstein has more.

In a win for Trump a New York appeals court cut the bond Trump has to post to satisfy his

civil fraud judgment by more than half to $175 million.

But his lawyers attempts to delay

his criminal hush money trial,

based on their argument that the DA deliberately

delayed turning over documents,

was met with a sharp rebuke from Judge Juan

Mershane.

Mershane said the DA was not at fault for the late production of documents

from federal prosecutors, and the DA's office has complied with its obligations.

The judge said the trial will begin in three weeks and indicated he'll frown on any further

attempt to delay.
