The war in Ukraine continues to dominate the Munich Security Conference, convening in

Germany, as high-ranking officials from around the world are gathering.

As Esmeen Nicholson reports, Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, is urging participants

to act rather than talk.

Speaking by video links, Zelensky opened the annual foreign policy gathering in Munich

by warning that there is no alternative to a Ukrainian victory.

Security conference chair left Russian officials off the guest list for the first time since

the 1990s.

Vice President Kamala Harris is addressing the conference today.

She's accompanied by a record number of U.S. delegates, many of whom have come to talk

about tensions with China.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is attending, as is his Chinese counterpart.

Conference organizers hope the two diplomats will take the opportunity to sit down together.

For the second time this year, North Korea tests launched a ballistic missile.

NPR's Anthony Cune reports that the launch comes ahead of several joint military exercises

by the U.S. and South Korea.

The South's Joint Chiefs of Staff say the North launched the suspected long-range ballistic

missile from Pyongyang's Sunan District eastward into the sea.

It's the North's first launch since January 1st.

It was also detected by Japan, which says the projectile is likely to have fallen within
