A barrage of missiles and rockets fired by Iranian-backed missiles at a base in Western Iraq

has wounded an Iraqi soldier, and some American service members are being evaluated for possible

concussions.

And Piers Tom Bowman has more.

The missiles and rockets were fired at the Al-Assad Air Base.

U.S. officials say most were intercepted, but an untold number hit the base where U.S. and Iraqis are stationed.

Damage assessments are ongoing.

Officials would only say a number of U.S. personnel are undergoing evaluation for traumatic brain injuries.

At least one Iraqi service member was wounded, though not seriously.

This is the second time Iranian-backed militias have wounded coalition troops.

Last month, three U. three US servicemen were wounded

one seriously when a drone hit their base in northern Iraq. The US responded

with airstrikes had killed some militants and destroyed facilities.
