There's quite a lot to get through today.

I'm looking at the honours list of Boris Johnson's resignation honours.

There should be a sort of disgrace honours or a new name to describe the idea that you get to put people in the House of Lords even after being hounded out of office by your own colleagues.

But we are where we are.

It makes me wonder whether the House of Lords may actually be suffering sort of existential damage

as a consequence of the flotsam and jetsam that the former Prime Minister has already put in there

and seems determined to add to.

Also, of course, Gavin Williamson, do you know that yesterday I didn't go into the full detail about some of the things he said?

Because I was conscious of the fact you might have kids in the back of the car.

And some of the things that Gavin Williamson was reported to have said to people.

In the context, of course, of a mental health crisis that this country is currently suffering from was so unbelievable.

So utterly unbelievable that we steered clear of it altogether.

I knew he was toast by the time we came off air, but the question of when rather than if was

one that we spent a lot of time with on Monday. And then some of the details that emerged on

Tuesday were absolutely hair-raising, truly shocking. And yet Rish Sina put him in the cabinet, despite knowing much

of what he stood accused of and all of what he had already done wrong. Has anybody ever, and this

isn't mystery out, has anybody ever been fired from three governments by three separate

prime ministers? It's an astonishing achievement if you look at it from one angle.
