God's Word is an open letter to his people. The New Testament specifically is filled with actual letters to local churches.

Today, on enjoying the journey, we open one of those letters and hear the heart of Christ for each church member.

Let's join Scott Pauli now in the 10th chapter of the book of Hebrews.

Dear church member, now is the time to stay close to God and God's people.

I'm telling you, we're living in unusual days, aren't we?

Evil men and seducers, waxing worse and worse, the devil throwing everything you possibly can at the church.

And I've even heard people talk about, they wonder what the future of the church is what the future of the church will be I can answer that

question Jesus said the founder of the church the head of the church the foundation of

the church he said that the gates of hell would not prevail against his church

so you may neglect your local assembly and a local assembly could dry up and die,

but I want you to know that the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is moving forward. God is advancing.

And you and I ought to make up our minds that we're going to be the right kind of church members,

we're going to help to have the right kind of churches until we see Jesus face to face. Now is the time to stay close to God and God's people. We've been looking at

Hebrews 10, verse 25, that says, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some

is, but exhorting one another and so much the more as you see the day

approaching. Now what day is he talking about? He's talking about the day of the Lord's return. He's

talking about the day we see Jesus Christ face to face. Understand this, that this world is not my home.

I'm just a passing through.

In other words, someday very soon, we're leaving here.

Someday very soon, Christ is coming and the church is going.

Someday very, very soon, this parenthesis we're living in, this season we've been going through,

it's all going to be over.
