The biggest thing driving the day today is it's an election day.

Voters are getting out and doing the thing that actually makes its democracy run day to day in states across the country.

We have big gubernatorial contests in Kentucky and Mississippi, a referendum on abortion rights in Ohio, and a battle for control of the Virginia legislature that are really, really taking up a lot of the focus today.

And one of the big things we are going to be watching is how the outcomes in these elections are going to tell us about voters' enthusiasm as we're heading into 2024.

Some of the big things that we're going to be looking at,

number one, abortion. Is it continuing to have a saliency for voters, especially for Democrats

over and over and over again since Roe fell? We've seen Democratic voters take it out on Republicans at the ballot box.

And today they will be able to vote directly on a referendum on abortion in Ohio.

And another thing is, who is turning out?

We have heard over and over and over again and seen it in polling that black and brown voters may not be very

interested in the 2024 election. So are they interested in this one? Will we see them turn out,

especially in Mississippi, where there is probably the biggest portion of black voters in the

states that are going to be voting today. And the suburbs,

suburbs across the country have continued to be deciding factors for a decade or so now around

the country in our elections. And so how are the folks in the suburbs vote today? And can we

glean anything about how they are going to be

reacting and acting in 2024? And joining me now to discuss Election Day across the country,
