It is November, 1963.

We are doing part two of this Beatles month.

They're in the middle of a big tour.

They've been doing great work.

It is the 16th of November, and they've moved from Bristol the previous night to the Winter Gardens in Bournemouth.

A busy time.

And again, this thing of the US paying attention is very true in Bournemouth.

The US are starting to pay attention to the extent that there are three camera crews from ABC, CBS and NBC.

All there to film parts of the concert at the Winter Garden Theatre.

And there's also a brief John and Paul interview for CBS.

And there's also possibly that they could be in Life magazine.

This is such a strange thing.

So there's a photographer from Life magazine, Terrence Spencer.

So he and his assistant were invited to the hotel, Brankson Tars.

People can tell us if it's still there, where the Beatles were staying.

But the Beatles don't turn up for the photo shoot.

So effectively they turned down what would have been the 13th of January, 1964, cover of Life

Magazine.

Life Magazine is a big thing. And Spencer later remarked
