Vienna. A lot of people say we spend too much time talking about you. with your host, Jane Steinberg and David Beatt.

A lot of people say we spend too much time talking about UFOs.

I guess because we were both exposed to the subject very early on.

But it's also true that the UFO field, the more and more we examine it,

the more we get a little discouraged about the state of the investigation.

Like, I have been in and out of UFO field a number of times where I get heavily immersed in it.

And then after a while, I say, you know what, this is enough for right now.

I'm going to lay off for a couple of years.

And I get back in and again, and I see that not much has changed.

So in 2006 and 2007, what has changed? Well, we have more players. We have more agendas.

We have more confusion than ever before. And so the core reality behind UFOs has become more and more difficult to find. Well, it's like anything else. With the advent of the internet, we have an easier way to disseminate lots of information,

which means we have lots of stuff floating around, which means that we have a lot of crap floating around.

So basically, it's a signal to a noise issue the way it always was.

But at this point, if you have an opinion, you have a way to put it out there.

And what I think we've seen, Gene, on the show is that lots of people have opinions,

lots of people have agendas, lots of people are using this to somehow make a living.

You and I, of course,

not being part of that group. I have nothing against making a living, by the way. I mean, if you want to be a full-time UFO investigator and you make money from doing lectures and you make money

from writing books, that's okay. You know, this is cool. But will you sacrifice your principles to make that money?

And that's where things get difficult. Yeah. Yeah. Or are you actually seeking truth or are you looking to protect a point of view? Those are two very different things. Of course, outside of all of this, it's true that for hundreds of years, places have been haunted.
