Hello and welcome to today's independent travel podcast with me, Simon Calder. Yes, I'm at an airport, sadly not flying out to Dunhamamam with Jet 2, but actually waiting at Edinburgh Airport for a domestic flight which hasn't yet been cancelled unlike some of them

and I wanted given that there's so much chaos and disruption around today to give you a sweep

about what is happening and let's start in the skies if we may well over a hundred flights to

from and within the UK cancelled so far.

Now some of them are sort of fairly obvious in the sense that Newkey Airport very badly hit,

so the flight from here in Edinburgh to Newkey has been cancelled.

But in addition to that, British Airways has cancelled about 50 flights.

Now, 10 of those are between Heathrow and Jersey Airport, whose airport is closed all day.

Guernsey Airport, by the way, is also shut.

But there's another 38, I can count, domestic and European flights, including round trips, multiple round trips to Amsterdam,

Belfar City, Brussels, Glasgow and Paris, Charles de Gaulle, all cancelled to him from Heathrow.

And that's because, according to British Airways, we've had to make schedule adjustments

due to the adverse weather conditions across the UK and Europe caused by Storm Kierron.

Yes, I'm sorry to say that was my flight being called and I'm now sitting here on a very grey and rainy day, but preparing to depart at least which is something so let me carry on the

klm disruption around 50 flights cancelled to and from Amsterdam is actually very serious for an

awful lot of people that's 50 flights affecting UK airports I couldn't believe believe that 17 of them served by KLM from its hub in Amsterdam Skippole,

and all of them have got cancellations, worst ones, London City, London, Heathrow and Manchester.

Now, that means that since probably at least half of those people were not going to

outstand at all they were going to further destinations really important that you

understand what your rights are as a who's that I think that might be jet two
