This is the Brand and Sherry podcast.

So this church in Chicago, it's LaSalle Street Church, they gave money back to regular attenders.

I don't know quite how this works, but they had a real estate deal.

Okay.

To me, everybody owns the church anyway, but the leaders decided to give back some of the money from the real estate deal to people and said, go do something good with it. Okay. Which is an interesting experiment, but I was thinking about this. So they each get $500. They're like, well, that's exciting. We go out and we have to find some way to creatively give. I'm like, that's all your money all the time. That true every paycheck you get you get a chance to be

creatively generous you do you do i mean all of this do so it's not like just for them like every

dollar that i get i feel like i can spend this well but some of it's for rent true but i chose to rent

what i chose to rent right so that was my. And I get to choose what I want to do with my money. All this to say, if you think it's a blessing for these people to have $500 to be creative with, it is. Same thing with every dollar we get. You get a chance to be creative and fun with your giving.

And in fact, you're supposed to be a cheerful giver.

So all that's say, just have fun with it.

I mean, do that thought experiment with your own money and think, how can I have fun and

be generous to people in a radical way?

A question for you, and we think this is interesting because it flips the normal script.

Like, it's easy to get annoyed with people.

We understand that.

You may be annoyed with us, for all we know, but you know what's great, is when we turn the camera onto ourselves,

instead of asking you what your pet peeve is, we would like to know a far more interesting question,

which is, is there anything

about you that's a pet peeve for other people? So think about yourself, and then is there

anything that you're doing that you would own up to? You know what I'm annoying people. And I know it.

And I'm not even really interested in changing it. But this is what it it is it doesn't have to be that

resolutely against that sherry's thinking but it may be something you're like yeah
