So the main storyline over the past few weeks has been GOP infighting. Well, shocker here, but that

narrative continues to rule the day on Capitol Hill, and that's despite

Republicans claiming to be unified now that they have themselves the new speaker. Cute,

but also not reality. House Republicans joined with Democrats last night to sink their own

colleagues' resolutions to, number one, expel indicted Congressman George Santos, and number two,

censure Congresswoman Rashida Taleb over her criticisms of Israel. The latter has Taleb's

censure author Marjorie Taylor Green in a bit of a tizzy right now. The Georgia Republican

tweeted out the names of her colleagues who voted down her resolution and wrote that they were, quote, pathetic.

This is, of course, in addition to the bicameral fight that's happening right now between Republicans in the House and Senate,

about whether or not Ukraine aid should be tied to funding for Israel.

Speaker Mike Johnson made a bit of an about face yesterday when he told Senate Republicans that he does now

support Ukraine aid, but he argued that he just can't allow that to be connected to Israel funding,

or he would lose his speakership. And this puts him at odds with staunch Russia Hawk and Ukraine

defender, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. And it turns out that GOP infighting might actually be

contagious. Last night, a crop of Senate Republicans turned on their own colleague who's been

blocking military promotions, demanding that he release his hold of more than 300 service

members' advancements. Yes, we're talking about the notorious Senator Tommy Tuberville.
