0:00.0	Hi friends, I'm Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books
0:06.8	of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ's
0:11.7	life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. So here is how
0:17.5	it works. I'll read three chapters to you. You can listen or read along in your own Bible or online, and then I'll pray.

0:24.8	Today is day 19, and I'll be reading Mark chapters 10 through 12 in the New Living Translation.

0:44.9	Mark 10. Then Jesus left Copernum and went down to the region of Judea and into the area east of the Jordan River. Once again, crowds gathered around him and as
0:50.4	usual, he was teaching them. Some Pharisees came and tried to trap him with this question.
0:55.5	Should a man be allowed to divorce his wife? Jesus answered them with the question. What did Moses say in the
1:01.5	law about divorce? Well, he permitted it, they replied. He said a man can give his wife a written
1:06.8	notice of divorce and send her away. But Jesus responded, he wrote this commandment only as a
1:12.9	concession to your hard hearts. But God made them male and female from the beginning of creation.
1:18.4	This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are
1:23.6	united into one. Since they are no longer two two but one, let no one split apart what God
1:28.7	has joined together. Later, when he was alone with his disciples in the house, they brought up the
1:34.0	subject again. He told them, whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery
1:39.1	against her. And if a woman divorces her husband and marries someone else, she commits
1:43.3	adultery. One day, some
1:45.5	parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples
1:50.0	scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples.
1:55.4	He said to them, let the children come to me. Don't stop them. For the kingdom of God belongs to those
