Last month saw Italian general elections, with a party called Fratelli d'Italia, brothers

of Italy coming first.

The leader, George Ameloni, entered politics age 15 and enjoyed the MSI as a post-fascist

party and she's favourably quoted Mussolini.

Many see Fratelli d'Italia as the latest far-right party in Europe with origins in post-fascism.

Discuss all of that and what a premier ship with George Ameloni at the top might look

like.

I spoke to Dr David Broder, an expert in Italian politics and the country's far-right.

So explain what just happened.

There's this party called Fratelli d'Italia, brothers of Italy, they're led by something

called George Ameloni and they've just come first in the Italian elections, but things

are a little bit more complicated than that.

If there's a government after all this, I mean there will be a government, not if there's

a government.

What will it look like?

What will its complexion be?

During the campaign, George Ameloni made a big deal of the fact that Italians should

be able to choose their government directly.

They should know who the coalitions are, they should know who they're voting for the

last 11 years.

There have been quite a few governments which were technocratic cabinets or which made

up figures from outside, intellectual politics, or bonds which were made kind of strange alliances
