Coming up on Sword and Scale Daily, in Auckland, New Zealand, a 27-year-old man is on trial

for the murder of 21-year-old British backpacker Grace Malayne.

One week after a Charlotte, North Carolina high school teacher was charged with having

sex with a student, both her and her husband are found dead in their home in a suspected

murder suicide.

Finally, a Las Vegas man has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, conspiracy to commit

murder, and kidnapping in relation to the death of 24-year-old Esmeralda Gonzalez, whose

body was discovered encased in concrete in the desert north of Las Vegas.

On December 1st, 2018, Grace Malayne, a 21-year-old backpacker from England, went out on a

tender date in Auckland, New Zealand. It was the night before her 22nd birthday.

When Grace failed to return to her hostel or communicate with her family, she was reported

missing.

On December 8th, her tender date, a 27-year-old man, was arrested and charged with her murder.

On December 9th, Grace Malayne's nude body was found contorted into a suitcase and buried

in a shallow grave in the Whitehaka Roranges. She had died by strangulation and her body

showed bruises, indicated of being restrained.

The name of the man on trial for killing Grace has been suppressed by the court. His trial

began on Monday.
