45-year-old Lucky Miller, the sheriff of Manford, Oklahoma, was discovered dead in a hotel room

in Pensacola, Florida on Sunday night.

Per NBC Miami, Miller was sharing the room with 49-year-old Michael Neely, who is one of his officers.

They were in town to attend a law enforcement conference and learn about death-seen investigations.

On Sunday evening, guests complained to hotel staff that Miller and Neely were being loud and disruptive.

Then, around 9pm, witnesses say they heard loud noises coming from the room,

and a male voice repeatedly crying out, stop it, Mike.

They ran into the room and found the two men on the floor, with Neely straddling Miller.

The witnesses pulled Neely off Miller and called 911.

Fox News 23 reports that when deputies arrived at the scene, they found Miller deceased on the floor of the hotel room

and Neely lying on the floor on the other side.

Miller had injuries to his face and one of his eyes was swollen shut, but there were no other apparent injuries.

Neely had injuries to his face and an injury to his right hand, which was sustained when he was being forcibly pulled off Miller.
