Coming up on Sword and Scale Daily, a Las Vegas woman is rescued after she was kidnapped

at gunpoint, sexually assaulted, and left to die in the Mojave Desert.

A father and daughter have been charged in the crime.

A Russian history professor was rescued from the freezing Mojave River and found in the

possession of a backpack containing the severed arms of a woman.

He has since admitted to murdering his younger lover and dismembering her body.

Finally, police in Wisconsin have solved a 1999 cold case murder by identifying the victim

and bringing the perpetrator to justice.

A Las Vegas woman identified only as Latisha E is fortunate to be alive after a terrifying

week-long ordeal. Two suspects, 54-year-old Stanley Lawton and his 22-year-old daughter

Shania Post-Lotten have been taken into custody and charged in relation with the kidnapping and assault.

K&TV Las Vegas reports that on October 30th, Stanley Lawton and Shania Post-Lotten

kidnapped Latisha E at gunpoint in North Las Vegas. They were known to the victim,

although the exact nature of the relationship has not been disclosed.

The two forced Latisha into the trunk of a car and drove her across state lines to

Lawton's house in Palmdale, California. There, the two kept her captive in a room for days

sexually assaulting her. They also stole her ATM cards and withdrew cash from her accounts.

They never requested a ransom and the motive for the crime is not known.
