All right, guys, guys, let talk defense today.

First drive left a little something to be desired in this game,

but then of course they held, they held them to a field goal, put up three points,

and then after that it was pretty much all she wrote for the Florida State offense. A little note that the Notre Dame PR team put out.

Florida State compiled 208 total yards tonight,

marking the fifth time that Notre Dame has held an opponent under 250 yards this season.

Texas A&M, 246 yards, Purdue, 162 yards, Miami of Ohio, 229 and Stanford,

and even 200. Have to go back to 1988 when the Irish held five opponents under 250 yards,

five times, back to 1983 for six times. So if they do it one more time over the next three days,

or the next three games, it'll be the first time since 1983. So when you start bringing up

years like 1988 and defense and all of those different things, you're in pretty good company

when it comes to this defense,

guys, and this defense is still young, they're still super athletic, they're still super fast,

and even though they have sustained some pretty brutal injuries from some guys that they were

really counting on this year, they just continue to make plays left

and right. And, you know, you lose one of your leaders in Howard Cross, and it just awakes the

sleeping giant that is Riley Mills, who just comes out of hibernation with three massive sacks.

And Kurt Hinesh, his replacement, has two sacks. And I believe Notre Dame ends up with eight sacks. And Kurt Heinish, his replacement, has two sacks.

And I believe Notre Dame ends up with eight sacks on the game.

And then plus, you know, yes, it was the second team, but it was still the defense.
