All right, Brian, another change that Notre Dame is now undergoing is Al Golden is headed back to the Cincinnati Bengals,

which is actually where Notre Dame had hired him from as their linebackers coach after the 2021 season.

And he is headed back to Sensi.

My wife is ecstatic about it.

I am not because obviously Al Golden did a lot of things in South Bend, a lot of great things in South Bend.

So we're going to start this out talking back through, you know, what did the Golden era look like?

And what did the Al Golden defense look like and mean for Notre Dame from 22 to 24 when he was here?

He did and accomplish a lot of different things, had multiple draft picks leave under his

tenure, right?

We just got done talking about Ben Morris and he's add him to the list of guys, right?

So when you look back, Brian at Al Golden's time in South Bend, where do you start?

What are some initial thoughts that you have, man?

Well, I mean, if we're being honest, I think you look back and you say, okay, what was my feeling when he was hired and what did he accomplish during his time? And when you look at

at what my thoughts were now golden was hired i i had reservations

about it to be honest with you i mean look i knew that he was a smart guy i know that he had

great success coaching in the past the last time he was a coordinator he ran kind of a three-four

defense this was back in in virginia back in in o five and 06 with guys like Kai Parham and Amad Brooks.

And you wondered like, okay, he then became a head coach of Temple. He then went to Miami.

And then that didn't work out. And he'd be coaching in the NFL ever since. And he had done a

really nice job as the Bengals linebackers coach. And, do he want to recruit? There's all these concerns.

And like, look, I know the guy's a smart guy,

but can he coach young guys?
