All right, Brian, and part two of today's show here on the Irish Breakdown podcast,

We're talking about the questions on Notre Dame's defense.

Now, this is a continuation of what we talked about from Tuesday. And again, quick refresher.

These are questions that, folks, we just don't have an answer to. If we did, the show would be titled questions that Notre Dame's defense has answered, right?

And even if things like, we think we know, but it's not something that's been established, we think we know who's going to step up here, we think we know who's going to step there, but we got to see it. And though the answers to these questions, Trevor, are going to go a long way towards determining how good this football team is going to be in each of the areas we discuss. Absolutely. And these are questions that it's going to be up to the coaching staff to figure out. You know, this is what they get paid to do. It's what they're charged with doing. And that's really where we're going to start with this conversation, Brian, is with all the talent coming back on this roster, because there's a lot. We're going to spend a lot of time this offseason talking about how exceptional, the talent and the experience is coming back on this side of the ball.

But what's the staff going to look like? And I think that's a good place to start when we start

talking about the defense, Brian. Yeah, I mean, right now, the reality is, is we don't know what

the coaching staff is going to look like. Notre Dame's already lost one position coach in Max Bulla.

They lost one of the analysts and kind of assistant lineback of coaches and Trey Reeder,

who's also going to Michigan State.

There's other coaches on defense being looked at.

I know there's programs looking at Al Washington,

programs looking at it, Mike Mickens.

I wish more programs were looking at Chris Ash.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

But will all those guys come back?

I don't know.

As of right now, they're going throughout their business like they are coming back,

you know, and that's what good coaches do is until I have an offer from somewhere else,

I'm conducting my business like I'm got to run this room and, and handle my business. And I mean, in the last couple weeks, Mike Mickens has gotten two more commitments in the 2027 class. You know what I mean? So he's putting in work. You know, so I think that's the biggest thing, and I need to spend a lot of time on it because

it is what it is.
