All right, Brian, and part two of today's show here on the Irish Breakdown podcast brought to you by Fanduil.

We're talking offensive and defensive grades for Notre Dame at the by week, their second by week.

And ideally, they're either, depending on how you look at it, like you've said, they're either a little bit past a halfway point in the season or they're not quite to the halfway point in the season.

So could potentially be a lot of football left. But I know we're separating these out

of the two different ways to grade this, Brian. We're separating things into like players and

scheme and situational football. So how are we, you know, looking at this from an offensive

standpoint, which is where we'll start.

So, you know, we're going to do it.

We're going to go run game, past game, situational, overall, great for the offense.

And then we'll just kind of quickly give our grades for each position group.

And so you understand kind of what the standard is.

The standard isn't, are they playing well?

It's not, are they doing a good job job how are they compared to past offenses where do they rank in the stats it's really about are they

maximizing their potential and are they playing championship football that's the standard and

that's what we're going to hold them to in this part of it.

And it's taking that season in its entirety.

Just because you've had two good games in a row doesn't mean that you eliminate the two good games at the beginning.

We don't do what some professors do, which I'm totally fine with.

I've benefited from this as a student where we'll drop your lowest grade at the end of semester, right? I mean, those games still count because you're, you're still five and two. They're not going to say, well, you're playing great now. So we'll just go ahead and take that Miami and A&M losses off your schedule. So it's the season, it's in entirety up to this point. And with the standard being championship caliber football.

It's not, hey, well, they're better than everybody else in their schedule. They're better than last year's offense. They're better. That's not the standard. The standard is, are they playing to their potential and are they playing championship caliber football? So somebody said, are you all grading on a curb? Nope. The curve is, who are, who, what's the best? And that's the standard you're, you're trying to live up to. Because until you become the best in the country and the best you can be, you have areas for improvement. So probably going to be a little stricter than some of you think we're going to be today. But, um, we'll, we'll get in some context as to why some of our grades aren't as good as maybe some of what you think they should be.

And it's actually a good thing, actually.
