So final section of the show, we're going to talk about Notre Dame and Notre Dame's opponents when it comes to Heisman trophy contenders.

And where does this conversation start off with?

That starts off with Riley Leonard.

And I think that's a given.

Now, I've said before, do I think Riley Leonard could be a Heisman contender?

Yes.

Am I putting him in my top five right now? No, no, maybe top 10. And the reason why is there still a lot we have to learn about

Riley Leonard. You guys know my opinion on Riley Leonard. I think he's an extremely gifted player.

I think he's got a lot of armed talent. He's a dynamic

athlete. And I've pointed out in past shows, I'm not going to rehash it, that his numbers at Duke

for it in 2022 were every bit as good, if not better than what Jalen Milro had last year at Alabama.

And Jalen Milro finished sixth, I believe in Heisman

trophy voting, and Riley Leonard wasn't even the top 10 the year before.

And so, you know, I just, I see a guy that's got a lot of ability and a guy that can be

an impact player and guy that be a difference maker.

However, if we're being honest, as Notre Dame fans, we also have to say this guy's coming off of a lower body injury.

We don't know how healthy is going to be all season. He's cleared now. He's good to go now,

but can he stay healthy? Question number one. How is he going to adjust to the new system? Question

number two. How is he going to adjust to the new players around him? Question number three. And then also, he's a guy that, in my opinion, has to, you know, show that he can

play well on the biggest stage. I think that's a very fair question. Now, I think he's capable of

all those things, but he's got to show a lot for me.

And so I just, I need to see it from him.
