and welcome to yet another edition of the Irish Breakdown Podcast. I'm Vincent

Dario. That's Brian Driscoll. And we got a good one for you guys today. I'm looking forward to it.

It's another beautiful day here in Northern Indiana. We've had like three in a row brian that have been just

gorgeous weather so why not spend a couple hours in the basement so that i'm looking forward to

that but no seriously we've got a show that we're going to do and in four years of us doing

or give or take four years of us doing podcasts we've never done a show like this before where we

just break down the transfers and we're going to talk offense we're going to talk defense

we're going to talk special teams and you know obviously we're moving into an era of the transfer portal where, you know, 10 years ago, why you wouldn't have a show like this? Five years ago, you wouldn't have a show like this because the transfer portal was completely different than it is now. And, you know, transferred still happened, but they weren't like they are today. And so that kind of begs for a show like the one that we are going to do today.

And we're going to, like I said, we're going to talk offensive transfers.

We're going to talk defensive transfers.

We're going to talk special teams transfers.

But before we jump into Notre Dame specifically, let's talk about the transfer portal as a whole and kind of

the way that it's shaping college football. And it was funny, we're getting ready for the show and we're

talking about it. And Brian, you said, now we got to make sure that this first segment is at least 15

minutes long. I was like, that's not going to be a problem. Like, we can, we can talk about the state of college football and the transfer portal for

hours, I feel like, because there's good. There's definitely good. There is. There's good to the

transfer portal. But then then there's also bad. And then it's how is each team utilizing the

transfer portal? Are they utilizing the transfer portal?

Are they utilizing the transfer portal?

So, man, there's a lot of different avenues to take as we talk about the transfer portal, Brian.

Well, you know, when the whole thing started, Vince, the question was that Notre Dame had done relatively well in the previous transfer process when they changed the rule for grad transfers. They had they knew a lot of them. But you know, you think about Cody Riggs coming over in 2014.
