And so the topic that we're going to talk about today is something that you brought up to me two weeks ago.

We were going to talk about it last week, but the storms decided they wanted to make it to where I couldn't do the show last week.

And the topic is this.

We've kind of talked about it in other ways, but you look at college football and it's cyclical with top teams.

I mean, there's times when certain teams aren't good for a long time, and then they kind of emerge and break out.

I mean, there was a period of decades where Ohio State was always a really good team,

but they were never a real title contender.

You had that couple of years stretch under John Cooper,

but even then, you always knew they were going to find a way to win.

I mean, John Cooper was, he was Clemsoning before Clemsoning became a clemsoning thing.

You know what I mean? Like they were going to find a way to lose to one of the Michigan

schools, right? And then the one year he beats Michigan, they lose it home to Michigan State.

You know, I mean, it just, but, but outside of, they were always a really good team, but they

were never like an elite team. They were never Penn State. They were never that.

And then all of a sudden, Jim Tressel comes in and changes things. And really since he's been here,

they're just every year the expectation is that Ohio State's going to have a chance to play for a title.

You know, Alabama for a long time. I mean, you had that one year under Gene Stallings in 1990, it was in 1992, 91 or 92, where they were really good.

But, you know, they weren't great before that.

They weren't just great after that.

They were a good program for a while, but they weren't an elite program.
