Welcome to the show. Welcome to the show. Welcome to Game Day weekend. Home opening weekend for Notre Dame is finally here and we are getting ready for it. I mean, it is going to be massive, not just a night game. Notre Dame and Texas A&M, a couple of ranked teams, 730 Saturday night at Notre Dame Stadium.

But I don't know where they're going to put all these recruits that are coming into town. At the stadium. Yes, that's right. And that's what we're going to start the show with today. We've got a lot of Texas A&M, Notre Dame preview that we'll do in a little bit. but we're starting the show, Brian Driscoll, our man from Irish Breakdown.com, of course, the publisher, the owner, any other titles that go along with that? I might have asked you the last time. All around good guy, as well I'd like to continue to tell myself, true or not, if that's what I tell myself. We always tell ourselves that, don't we?

Hope so. Yeah, that's right. We try, yeah, convince ourselves. I tell you what, I'm going to start with,

because this is such a big recruiting weekend for Notre Dame. I've got a quick soundbite for Marcus Freeman. He was asked about it in his Zoom call yesterday.

So I'll start with that.

And then Brian and I will discuss.

I've done a tremendous job of developing relationships with these young guys.

You know, the families, you know, we're going to have a lot of our commits here and a lot of, you know, younger guys that, you know, are interested in Notre Dame football. And it speaks volumes to the program, the team, the, the opponent that we're having, right? They want to be at the game where you're facing a top-tier opponent.

And so, again, this is a group effort. And our personal staff has done a tremendous job.

Our football program has put ourselves in a place where, you know, a lot of top recruits want to come see us play.

And so we have the best recruiting we

can do is put on a good performance. So there's Marcus Freeman talking about this big recruiting

weekend and he didn't set it up exactly right. He was asked about how his staff has put

together this big recruiting weekend. And Brian, they've got a relatively new recruiting staff that's

kind of in place since Chad Bowden left, right? You're muted again. This has been kind of something

that's been building for a while. Like, these type of big weekends don't happen because on

September 1st, they started calling them kids saying, hey, you want to come to Notre Dame this weekend? Like some of them that started back when these guys visited during the spring and a lot. And that's a big part of this, Sean, because they're not all, but a lot of these kids visited in the spring. You know, Cameron Wagner's been on campus multiple times. Ed Braden Parks and Devin Robertson on campus ours invasion and and you start building

those relationships then I think the learning coaches have done a great job doing well and even better

job building relationships than maybe they did in the past where a lot of that fell on Chad Bowden's

shoulders and then you know Carter almond who's one of the the holdovers from the previous regime

I think that a great job of helping the new guys Jordan Blake Blake and Myron Tunga Volo and to a degree, Mike Martin, you know, kind of get comfortable and get rolling. And that's played a big role. But look, you come to place like Notre Dame, you've got to grow up fast kind of thing into your role. And, you know, so, you know, yeah, Jordan Blake's going to need time to get in comfortable in that role. You've got to figure it out pretty quick, man. You can't sacrifice the recruiting class. And we hear that it has. And my retook of Aloha, former Notre Dame player, I think it was an easier transition for him because he knows how to sell Notre Dame because he's just sharing his life, his experiences. Like, look, this is what it did for me.
