Why do you think some fans and analysts put so much stock into high school recruiting

rankings and not as much stock into on-field production in college,

one of, excuse me, evaluating teams.

Well, part of it is because a lot of these analysts have recruiting rankings as part of their

company. So if you're a writer for ESPN, you have ESPN recruiting rankings. Don't you

want to pump that? If Josh Pate, for example, is affiliated with CBS Sports, well, who's CBS

sports owned, 247 sports. He doesn't,

you don't hear him talking about rivals rankings and on three rankings. He talks about

247 sports rankings. So part of that is product placing, you know, pushing your product. I don't

have a problem with that. I mean, hello. We do product pushing as well. But I think that's part of it.

I think the other part of it is how do you discuss a team that's got five new starters

and you don't know how any of those guys are going to play in the offseason

when you're having a year-round sports conversation if you don't talk about what you thought

they were coming out of high school.

So to a degree, I understand it.

The issue I have Josh with Josh and other people is they over focus on that.

Like they're coming.

Like that was, who was it the other day that was talking about, you know, part of how they

determine some of one of these like power rankings is high school recruiting.
