So I think Trevor, we kind of talked about this as sort of the end of the show or end of the segment one is what's we're going to talk about this as sort of the end of the show or end of the segment one is what's, we're going to talk about what are the reasons that we believe that there's a, there should be a great deal of confidence at least for this next season.

The Notre Dame defense should remain really, really good. And that number one is Marcus

Freeman's presence. And Marcus Freeman's impact on the program. And this is a holistic way of

looking at it. Number one is the mentality. As long as he stays who he is, the program will stay what it is.

You know he is someone who does have a great defensive mind. That's why he is at Notre Dame.

It's why he's the head coach now. It was for the job he did as the defensive coordinator.

I mean, Marcus Freeman has played Georgia twice, and it was from,

what, 2020 to 2024 as defensive coordinator. The first time, I think they held him to 24 points,

the second time, and that's when he had Cincinnati's players, the second time they held him to 10.

You know, I mean, this is a guy that has a

great defensive mind. There's no doubt about it. So there's that. Look at the impact he's had

on the program from a recruiting standpoint, and that leads me to number two. The big reason why I

think this defense is going to keep rolling, at least for this year, is, look, you had a lot of talent that you lost.

We talked about it.

Xavier Watts and Riley Mills and Howard Cross and Jack Kaiser and Jordan Clark and Benjamin Morrison and guys like that.

But man, when you look at it, there's still a lot of talent coming back.

And this is the side of the ball where when you talk about reasons for optimism,

Marcus Freeman, this is what we're talking about.

It's, okay, whatever you think about the hire he made, we're going to find out.

We don't know.

One thing we do know is they've recruited this side of the ball really,

really well in recent seasons. And all those players are now going into his first class,
