Bysel Hold, 2026, will be the first time in Marcus Freeman's tenure to have a returning

starter quarterback. This, along with the best running back room in the country, will allow

the offense to have an already established identity for the first time since 2020, leading to the most successful September we've seen with Marcus Freeman.

For the first time in this era of the program, Notre Dame will start off hot.

I'm going to hope by this.

I mean, look, for the second part of this submission, they have to start out hot.

Like that is an imperative, and we're going to spend a lot of time in this offseason

talk about how September and the early window of Notre Dame season has to be better.

Because we talk a lot about how, you know, Marcus Freeman doesn't make the same mistake.

And that's the one mistake that he's repeated.

Whatever that may be, whether that's preparation with the team, doing something different

at practice, altering practice schedules, what you do in those practices.

I don't know what that answer is.

I'm also not getting paid the millions of dollars to figure out what that problem is.

That's on the shoulders of Marcus Freeman.

And if he can figure that out, I agree, because the pieces, Carson, to your point, are there.

First time having a returning start.

I mean, not even just in Marcus Freeman.

This is the first time they've had a returning starting quarterback since 19 to 20.

So the lines are there.
