Byselhold tragedy strikes and Tyler Buckner is the starter for Notre Dame in 2025 for all 12 games.

Assume he gets all the necessary practice snaps for the week leading up to Miami.

Notre Dame is over under nine and a half wins. I'm taking the over. Look, first of all, I'm just going to, look, CJ Carr should be starting quarterback in Notre Dame. I've said this all along. I predicted it would be Kenny Minchie based on my sources were telling me, but what was the whole point of what I said on Friday in my post or my Intel post? I don't like this decision because I think it's being made for the wrong reasons, and I think it should ultimately be CJ Carr. But Tyler Buckner is playing, like,

he stoned the ball really well. And Trev, you and I were talking before the show, you did a little,

you did like a kind of a preseason hype up video and i did one last year as well and i said i've only ever done one and i sent

you the video that i that i sent you and it was uh it was before the 22 season and you and are talking like

this video reminds us of how good tyler buchner was as a freshman at Notre Dame. And not just as a runner.

I mean, you think of the, just remember the goal ball he threw to Kevin Austin against

at Virginia Tech, just dined it right over the top.

Some of the throws he had to Michael Mayer, you know, like, Tyler Buckner's a really talented

quarterback who had, whose career took a very sharp turn in the bad

direction after the injury to Marshall and and then it took another bad direction when

despite playing I mean outside of two bad throws he played brilliantly in the bowl game

and when I say two bad throws you you could really just say one. It was the ball, I think it was the first pick six. Another one got tipped. It wasn't a good ball. It got tipped. The third interception, I know this for a fact. The coach told him what they were running a play near the goal line and the coach told him to throw it to this receiver because it's going to be open. So he dropped back, trusted the coach through it, and a DB from the backside came over and picked it off. That, that to me is as much on the coach as it was him. But outside of those throws, he was brilliant against South Carolina. Brilliant. And I still believe that if he would have stayed at Notre Dame in 2023, he would eventually replace Sam Hartman, no later than after Louisville. I mean, then, excuse me, at Clemson at

halftime. I think you probably make the move after Louisville. I think they would have

bent Sam Hartman after Louisville if Tyler Buckner would have stayed. What the, the trajectory of how all that would have gone. Now, I think ultimately it worked that well for Notre Dame because they did get Riley Leonard, and we still don't know if Tyler Buckner could have been healthy for a whole career. We don't know that. That's the only question I've ever had about Tyler Buckner's, can he stay healthy? But he made a bad decision to leave for Alabama.

Had he not done that, I think things turned out a lot differently for Notre Dame.

But if something happened where Tyler Buckner had to start all 12 games,

I still think their name's a 10 and 2 football team.
