I'm going to buy this, partly because of, I think your reasoning is spot on.

But part of it is because I still don't know how Chris Ash in this defense is going to let the defensive line loose against the run.

I don't know the answer to that. I have said before, I can see a world in which the linebackers

are turned loose more because of how they use the D-line, which is a way to go that can work very

effectively if you do it right. There's a lot of ways to you know successfully put a dominant

defense on the field if that's true then his answer even more so becomes a yay so the other answer

is this defensive line is so dominant that even though their sacks are way up their tackles for

loss are also way up and it ends up balancing it out.

But with the premise of what you said and the fact that we don't know how Chris Ash is going to really utilize the front this year,

I'm going to buy this.

I mean, it buy it as well. I mean, a greater percentage. I mean, I have what? It's been a couple seasons, really, since Notre Dame's tackle for loss numbers weren't strongly driven by sack numbers. I mean, that was one of my biggest gripes the last two years. Honestly, it was the lack of disruption behind the line of scrimmage. Heck, some of it's just going to be their ability to finish plays. I mean, Brian, we were up in the press box for the Boise State game. How many missed opportunities did they have in the backfield when Maddox Madsen was back there scrambling around? So some of it's just going to be their ability to finish on key plays. But by and large, yeah, Dan, I'm going to buy this one too.
