Originally, we were going to record this podcast today and then run it later in the week as your standard garden variety USC preview.

Instead, the NCAA released its findings today, called for Notre Dame to vacate all victories

in 2012 and 2013, and put the program on one-year probation.

There's also some penalties for the student trainer who was involved in the academic scandal,

academic misconduct of two years ago that caught up nine different players,

five that we know about by name.

Remember Carvary, Russell, Ishek, Williams, DeVars, Daniels, Kendallmore, and Eiler Hardy.

So we're doing this podcast today, and it's running today because this is the story that

we've been following and reporting on literally for years.

And today was the day, oddly, about 10 minutes before Brian Kelly's scheduled Tuesday press conference,

his last one of the season.

And then this drops for the NCAA.

So I don't know which Tim wants to jump on this first. I thought we had to start with USC. Yes. That's in segment two. Yeah, the timing was shocking, as we said, if it would have happened at one o'clock. It would have been much easier for Notre Dame to handle it, and for Brian Kelly, who was putting a pretty tough position to go down there and try and have a USC press conference with this going on, obviously. It was disinterested around. Everybody there was disinterested in the USC matchup with a four-and-seven Irish team. I mean, par for the course with this whole damn scandal, because he has been forced to stand up there and answer questions about it more than anybody. I think this is the first time we've heard from

University President John Jenkins today,

and that was just in a written statement.

Jack Swarberg has addressed it in interviews over the years,

but, man, Brian Kelly has taken on the brunt of this

from the very beginning until what may not be the very end

because Notre Dame is appealing appealing the vacation of victories.

But man, this guy is taking all bullets on this one.

And generally speaking up to today, he has handled it really, really well.
