show. I was traveling a couple weeks ago. Then last week, we had two or three topics, and it was

that we did not have much. But as I always say, the Notre Dame sports gods will give us things to

talk about. So we do have some topics for this week's show. Before we dive into those topics,

And our first topic is, okay, so Eric Hansen wrote an article about if a 24 team

college football playoff already existed, how would have Notre Dame fared.

Jack, I'll give you the floor, kind of talk to us about Eric Hansen's story,

our esteemed colleague, and then, yeah, what were your thoughts on it?

I think the general takeaway is probably pretty poorly, at least until last year.

I think last year was the only time where Notre Dame really missed the playoff,

and the conclusion was that they would have had a real chance to win the national championship,

which I think is the case with most teams. That's why the 2014 playoff thing is a massive

overreaction by college football. I would actually argue that they might be, if anything,

with the exception of last year, which was a free catastrophe based

on a committee that didn't know what it was doing, if anything, they'd be further away

from national championship.

Because what a 2014 playoff is going to do, and this is what coaches who think it's going
