Hey everyone, Romeo Hotel here. With Air Venture 2025 just around the corner, we thought this

year this was the perfect time to revisit one of our most practical prep episodes. What you're

about to hear is a replay of episode 287, originally recorded in 2023, all about arriving

at Oshkosh safely, understanding the FISisk arrival, and avoiding some common mistakes.

It's a favorite for first timers and veterans alike. That said, a few things have changed for

2025, and we want to make sure you're caught up. You'll find a link in the show notes to this

year's official EAA notice, along with updated videos from EAA that walk you through the current

procedures. We highly recommend you spend time not only reviewing the notice but memorizing most of the procedures that you'll be using

and watching those videos to prepare you if you're especially if you're going up for the first time.

A few key updates. The AIS is now broadcasting at double the power on 125.9 are reaching out to

about 60 miles at 3,000 feet that's a really important update there were

complaints in the past about it not being available until you got pretty close

this will allow you more time to prepare find out which runway they're landing on

and which fix they're using on the arrival if you're assigned runway 27 for 2025 you'll now begin your descent over the gravel pit, not the road,

and you'll need to maintain 90 knots for all runways until entering the downwind, not just until Fisk.
