That word is a lamp land

my feet

and a lie unto

a lie unto my pad to my path.

Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book by book.

On our last searchlight program we began looking at the Book of Ruth.

As the story began, we were introduced to a woman named Naomi.

At that time there was a severe famine in Bethlehem where they lived.

Because of this, her entire family decided to leave Israel and go to Moab, a worldly place.

During the ten years that Naomi lived in Moab, her husband and two sons all died.

When she comes back to Bethlehem 10 years later,

she realizes that she should never have left in the first place.

All that she really needed for fulfillment was to be found in Israel, not in Moan, not in a worldly place.

As we join Pastor John today, we see Naomi's daughter-in-law, Ruth, deciding to go to Israel with her.

Ruth was from Moab, but knew that blessing would be found in Israel.

With the continuation of our story here now is, Pastor John.

Ruth said I'm not leaving you. Where you go I will go. Where you lodge I will lodge. Your people will be my people and your God will be my God.

She made this incredible declaration of commitment.
