This is part two of the crontabulous world of Derek Taylor, because that is where we left him in the middle of this 1967 psychedelic odyssey.

And like many people, for better or for worse, he's kind of been maybe indoctrinated isn't a word,

but he's certainly been influenced into maybe opening another door of perception into what

his life could be.

Dost is the word.

Well, he has been dozed.

So when we left our cravatted hero, he was at a party at the end of May, 1967, and John and George are there. He's had a double

dose of LSD. His seven-month pregnant wife is also tripping. And he, having spent two and a bit

years in L.A. as a freelance PA for the Beach Boys and the birds, there's a draw that is bringing him back into the Beatle universe.

There is, but not before he goes back.

We still have the Monterey Festival to get through.

Yes.

And he still has commitments back in the West Coast, on the West Coast.

Yeah, and so obviously everyone listening knows that the summer of 67 is the summer of love. And, you know, when we got to the end of the last episode, it's all fun in games while everybody's dosing and microdosing. But what happens next is Derek is part and parcel of an incident that we have spoken about before that perhaps changes the course of the Beatles' drug history.
