Everybody thinks they know the Beatles, but how much do we really know?

And we're live on tape from Dublin and Belfast.

In August,

1967, the Beatles hitched their wagon to Maharishi Manesh Yogi,

or the Maharishi for short.

In under nine months, his association with the band transformed them,

but it also set off a chain reaction of changes

all around the world. It was such a short time that they spent directly involved with the

Maharishi. I make it about 36 weeks in an round, but it was a game changer. Yes, and you think,

yes, I always think of it as being, you know, a year, 18 months.

It seems like a long time.

In terms of the effect that it had on their career, even today, you know, the associations seem to be greater than the amount of time would suggest.

Yeah, and it's, it's that recurrent theme that, you know, whenever we pull any kind of subject

apart is that a, you know, a Beatles day seems to be a normal person's month, that an awful

lot happens in the Beatle universe in a very short period of time.

So what we're going to do across two parts is look at how the band associated with the Maharishi.

And, you know, in this first part, we'll kind of focus in on how they get drawn in.

And the second part we'll focus on, you know, once they're embedded in India and what happens after that.
