Summary

By the time The Beatles Anthology finally appeared in 1995, it had taken over 25 years to produce. To celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2020, Nothing Is Real will have a few episodes scattered throughout the series that will look at the project through the lens of the last quarter-century.

In this episode Steven and Jason navigate the years from 1968, when the idea arose through to 1992 when the cameras started rolling.

0:51.4	Beatles anthology going into production and how that happened and what made it happen.
0:56.5	Broadly speaking, I'm a big fan of the Beatles anthology.
0:59.2	I think it's a great document and I'm glad it happened.

1:04.5	I mean, both at the time and now,
1:07.0	it's a documentary that I go back to, dip into.

1:12.6	I don't think I've watched it all the way through sort of episode one through to the end,
1:17.6	but it is great to dip into particular episodes.
1:20.6	And certainly at the time, it was, again, purely accidental, it was a great moment of timing to get it out in 1999.
