Summary

Episode 15 - The Mark Lewisohn Interview, Part Two.

Mark Lewisohn is the world’s leading Beatles historian and writer. As every Beatles fan knows, he is also in the middle of the “30 year project” that is All These Years, the definitive Beatles biography. In the second of two parts, Mark talks about working for the Beatles during the Anthology project in the 1990s, and working on All These Years via Benny Hill. He also answers some of Steven & Jason’s random queries. Live on tape from Dublin, it’s Nothing Is Real. Follow us on Twitter:

Jason is a big Jeff Lynn fan.

0:55.7

I'm not so keen on the production sign on that single.

0:58.6

But I actually prefer real love as a record, perhaps not as a song, but as I think it's

1:05.4

closer to the...

1:06.8

Well, there's a new mix of real love that's appeared in the last two or three years, which

1:09.9

is a... I don't know, I'm not exactly sure how it has come to supplant the other one, but it's an even better thing. It's a fantastic mix. Yes, I don't know anything about why that was done, but yeah, I enjoyed that. I mean, just suddenly it appeared that it was there and you suddenly hear something different and you think, oh, they've, well, they've actually changed. Yes. Changed it significantly. Yeah. I mean, just suddenly it appeared that it was there and you suddenly hear something different and you think, oh, they've, well, they've actually changed.

Changed it significantly.

1:31.5

But no fanfare at all.

1:33.1

Yeah, I was really thrilled with both three as a bird and your love personally.

1:37.7

And, but I know they're not, they, Jeff Lynn's production wasn't everyone's cup of tea on that.
