Summary
Fresh from a top 5.....0 place in Dubai, Eddie has to first of all explain his broken wedge and grazed knuckles, but then he and Andrew pick over a result that still shows plenty of encouragement for the year ahead. Meanwhile they run out of things to say in admiration for Scottie Scheffler after he returns to golf and gets straight back to winning ways. They run out of things to say in general if we're honest, but there is consideration for Eddie starting a TGL golf team and an acknowledgement that Laurie Canter will not be signed up by a Saudi Arabian darts league.

| 0:32.6 | Again, just the chipping forecast with me, Andrew Carter, and with Eddie Pepperel. Actually, I meant to say, I forgot to say, but also I didn't really care about saying, Eddie, happy birthday to you for last Thursday, because I didn't like to bother you. Was it Thursday of Dubai? It was Thursday, yeah. And somebody at the tour, or one of the promoters, arranged a nice, on the advertising screen by the 18th green there in the water, happy birthday, Eddie Peppel. So it was surprised by playing partners and people in the crowd started singing a happy birthday, so it was quite a nice little thing to have done. What were you doing on the 18th on the first day? Oh, I was putting... You must have been doing okay. I was putting from about 40 foot for birdie, leaving myself quite a tricky little four foot of a par actually, which I managed to sneak in the right edge, I think. Oh, God. Imagine you can miss that. You turn around to the multi-fitting your birthday. I would have thrown the ball at the big screen, actually, and just aimed for my face. There you go. Oh, sorry, I feel terrible with the early edit. And I'm just not that kind of person. I'm not a sweary person. Well, maybe a little bit. Oh, but you're late 30s now, technically. Are you? Am I? 35? I suppose so. Yeah so yeah no you're 36 now |
| 1:44.9 | you're not |
| 1:45.3 | no I'm 35 |
| 1:45.9 | what |
| 1:47.1 | yeah 35 on Thursday |
| 1:48.8 | who uh |
| 1:49.9 | nearly twice as old as |
| 1:52.1 | blades brown which is which is quite |
| 1:54.0 | depressing |
| 1:54.9 | but yeah but you would have held on better in the final round than |
| 1:58.3 | blades brown we'll get on to that later on |
| 1:59.8 | actually I'm not sure you would who knows no? No, but if you, I thought you're 35 already. So you're just 35. Are you sure? Because this is the kind of thing that you might actually have got wrong. Yeah, you've got me thinking, no, I was born in 91. We're 26, aren't we? I'm 35. Okay. Yeah. Well, no, 35. I mean, is that late 30s if you get to 35? I'm trying to do the maths on it now, but... Well, I'm certainly closer to 40 than I'm 30, I suppose, I think. This is a bit like the discussion of a 19th century, 20th century, 90s, whatever, but... Yeah, no, it's... How's your week been? No, I want to talk more about you. Because I'm doing that thing of not saying privately to somebody, you know, happy birthday, I love you, but doing it in a public forum. It's like people saying how much they love each other, children on Instagram that always works well. It was Big Rons on the day after. So my dad was out and his birthday is on the 23rd. Now he shares a birthday with Jack Nicholas, I believe. And I happen to share a birthday with Ryan Fox and Nikolai von Dellinghausen. So there was three of us in the field that day on the last Thursday who shared a birthday. But I didn't see their pictures up on the 18th Green, actually, so |
| 3:07.7 | favoritism. Yeah, the DP World Tour gives you some love. Talking of featuring, I mean, I was on the feature groups yesterday with Rasmus, near God Peterson, and I sent you. Oh, we saw you. We saw you. I sent you the clip from the 17th. I don't know if you, well, I know you got to see it, but that was, that made me chuckle, actually, watching it on watching it back. We're definitely going to get into that, but Ryan Faw. No. Oh, yeah, so you just said Ryan Fox, and I thought about Jason Fox. Well, that's a totally different one. Actually, this is a thing about you will now, |
| 3:41.5 | now you're 35, |
| 3:42.5 | you're not too far away from being chased around the internet |
