Hey there, I'm so glad you stopped by for this podcast. We hope so much we can serve you today.

Would you turn with me to Romans chapter 8? Bless the Lord. Praise you Father. Romans chapter

0:23.5

8. We are tiptoeing our way through this chapter of scripture, which is one of the climactic

0:29.6

points. Certainly I believe one of the most passionate points and almost poetic portions

0:36.3

of the book of Romans. So I want you to look with me now. Our text is 17 through 25. We're

0:43.1

really zeroing in on verses 17 and 18, but I need to back it up just a little bit to capture

0:50.2

our context. We keep overlapping in our beginning reading for a very good reason. So we can

0:55.8

keep some kind of an attachment to the scriptures before it and the scriptures after it. So let

1:29.2

why sonship and one translation adoption and another because it is sonship. But the original

1:34.4

Greek word that's being translated there is a word that means to be placed as a son, put

1:39.4

as a son, and not just born as a son. We've been placed there, adopted there, but you receive

1:45.6

the spirit of sonship and by him we cry, Abba, Father. We're coming back to that. The spirit

1:52.4

himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are

1:58.0

heirs. Heirs of God and coheirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that

2:03.7

we also may share in his glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing

2:11.0

with the glory that should be revealed in us. The creation waits an eager expectation for the

2:16.6

sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration not by its own choice,
