There's a saying that goes something along the lines of men fall in love through their eyes

while women fall in love with their ears through words.

This isn't too far off from what happened with Elvie when she first met a man that we'll call

La Petit Douche.

While he wasn't her type per se, he sure made an impression, a person who was thoughtful

and kind.

I don't care how tall he is.

I don't care what his background is, what he looks like, looks art and sport.

And I tell you, I'm met this man within a week.

The universe delivered.

He seemed to really care and was always eager to help.

Like, well, I'm so bubbly in everything that might be good next, right, opposite the tracks.

So maybe he'll be, um, the yin to my yang. But the honeymoon didn't last long, always having a weird feeling in her gut.

So he left his work phone on my nightstand and some things just told me, check it.

It really was what I would say, the mask started to slip, right?

You kind of see this different person, but just for like 20 seconds, right?

And it was like, unless you're there, you can't really explain it.

Gaslighting, future faking, crazy making, pathological lies.

That, like, different person, like the dead eyes, that face, I guess it's probably those micro-stressions

and he just said, you're crazy. Like I said, they're little tiny, tiny little nuggets that you don't

think are a big thing, but they start adding up and adding up and adding up. It's like I didn't,

I knew him, but I didn't know him.
