The day started early for me, yet it was an encounter nearly 20 hours later that left me refreshed and reminded me that there are two ways to live our lives. Let me explain.

The day began early.

3.15 a.m.

I didn't even know they made a 3.15 a.m. but they do. 3.15 a.m. I didn't even know they made a 3.15 a.m. alarms sounded in a Texas hotel room.

An hour commute then to the airport. Then two flights to make a lunch event in New Orleans.

Several meetings follow that. Then a speaking event. Then a book sending event. Then a race back to the airport. Turns out that the race back to the airport was a little unnecessary because the flight

was delayed. And then it was delayed more, and then a little bit more. Then once we finally took

off, the flight was delayed additionally after landing because our gate was occupied by another plane.

It was just one of those days.

The long evening of delay and the wait came to an end finally, mercifully, at a taxi stand when a well-worn van slowly approached.

I flied him down, I grabbed my bag. I threw it into the back,

and then I fell into the back seat. And I was totally wiped out. The gentleman driving,

sweetly smiled and introduced himself to me. He had a very kind disposition and an accent that was difficult enough to understand that you had to really want to me. You had a very kind disposition and an accent that was difficult enough to understand

And yet, my friends, and actually paying attention to him, you would realize that he radiated joy
