This is not what you come here for, but I'm sort of assured that you'll understand.

I got a DM on Twitter yesterday from a listener who said, just going through a rough patch with a broken leg,

but I would encourage you not to say nobody cares when somebody asks how you're doing on a podcast you're hosting.

I know you're eagerly waiting for your robot body side grade, but some of us do care about you in a healthy

parasocial relationship kind of way.

So I spent a lot of time considering that on Sunday in a house that was full of family.

We've usually got four people around the house, but the special lady friend's great Uncle passed away a couple of weeks ago and her folks are in town and her uncle is in town and it's a weird thing about like funerals and memorials because unless you

are like an immediate relative of the person who passed and I've never had that

happen I assume, I'm assuming that part, but I mean for everybody who's not an immediate relative,

a lot of times like funerals and memorials end up being fairly joyous because a lot of times they're driven by love.

The dearly departed is survived by his wife, by four children, by nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, and I'm certain that not every moment was a happy moment but that is a tremendous amount of

love and the people with whom we spent the weekend brought a lot of love into our home and a lot of great memories

I'm somebody that I'm sad to say I didn't know

I am glad that I did get to meet him a few years ago.

He was very kind.

And you could see true love and affection

that he had for his wife of doing the math right it was 48 years at that

point and I was stunned to find out over the weekend that when I met the gentleman he was 87 which I never

would have guessed. So today I am going to a memorial and I am sure there's going to be sadness, but I am just as sure

that there's going to be a lot of love. I'm sorry I didn't get to share more of his life. I am honored to be there for his send-off and to spend more time with people whose lives he touched.

We have family in town for a couple of days. I'm not sure what that means for this show.

I know it'll be back for the end of the week, maybe before. I don't really know what the next couple of days are like though so
