Summary

We're hopping in a 1938 Rolls Royce Wraith and driving to Christmasland so that we can cover the first three episodes of AMC's underwhelming adaptation of Joe Hill's (aka Stephen King's son) exceptional novel NOS4A2 (that's pronounced "nosferatu" for the uninitiated).  Why would you stretch 100 of the novel's 700 pages into a 10-episode prequel season? Does anyone care about Vic (Ashleigh Cummings) and her shitty parents? No? That's pretty bad when she's supposed to be the protagonist of the show! It's not all bad, though. Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto) is proving to be a formidable foe and a unique Hocus Pocus-y villain. The pointy-toothed demon children are suitable creepy. And expect lots of comparisons to the book from Trace and a few "I didn't read the book so I don't care" reactions from Joe! Will this show get better as the season goes on? We don't know, but we can't say we're dying to find out. For the full episode, subscribe to our Patreon page today! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. This show should have been a mini-series.

0:33.7

It should have been an 8 to 10 episode miniseries, one and done deal.

And if you ever read the book, and the listeners, if you have, this story is very much

about, it's about Vic. I mean, Vic is the main character of the book, but it's also all about

her and Charlie. And what's interesting, and I'm trying to spoil too much, but what I read, the last, like the end of the series, like the 10th episode, is the first page of the book.
