So we hear a lot of talk about property taxes this election season, and one state has a ballot

initiative that would get rid of them all together.

It's Kenel and Casey show 93 W. I'm Rob Ethan's in for Casey today.

So North Dakota has a ballot measure, measure four, that would wipe out property taxes in their state.

And I think this is interesting because let's face it the dominant conversation

throughout much of this election cycle here in Indiana has been about

skyrocketing property taxes which almost every single state in the union is seeing.

Yes.

And the greater question becomes, number one, what is the government, the leaders, the decision makers, what are they going to do about it?

But the broader question is, does the government have a right to have a forever lean on your property, which is what property taxes are?

Yes, taxation is theft. I would say no, but obviously they have taken that onto themselves.

Look, North Dakota being a thinly populist state,

I imagine most of their tax base isn't coming in from the property taxes

and they have natural deposits like oil wells in wells in there I think they'll be just

fine without it.

So the broader question in North Dakota is if you get rid of property taxes by the way
