He's got a new book out, which is terrific. It's called War Fever Boston, baseball and America in the shadow of the Great War talking all about the pandemic of 1918 and Johnny's a really eloquent guy and very smart and passionate.

Letterman is from Indiana. I actually saw Leno in the early 80s doing stand up when I was in college in DC.

How hilarious. Thank you for the point. Jay is from Boston, actually from and over Massachusetts to be specific. What I meant by Midwest humor is his humor would always play well in the Midwest, meaning it was kind of square and soft and down the middle.

And Letterman's humor would always resonate in New York and Los Angeles, you know, just a different style and different sensibility. Whenever they would look at the ratings as a matter of fact for the tonight show versus late show with David Letterman,
