Summary

In June 2000, a historic meeting took place between South Korean president Kim Dae-jung and North Korea's leader Kim Jong Il. This was the first inter-Korean summit since the Korean War, almost 50 years earlier. Professor Chung-in Moon from South Korea was a special delegate at the summit. nation. It's the most important meeting ever, at least as far as the peoples of the two

careers are concerned. Until now, the leaders of North and South Korea have never met.

The two nations are still technically at war. Their shared border is one of the most heavily

armed on earth. The North Kim Jong-il, who likes to be known as the dear leader, will

meet President Kim Dae-jong of the South, in the North Korean capital Pyongyang.

There are enemies, but they were sitting together, eating together and toasting together,

singing the unification song together.

Professor Chung-in Moon, who was one of 21 special delegates, invited to attend the summit

by President Kim Dae-jong of South Korea.

I have been working on his sunshine policy, therefore I was well versed into the, you know,

his policy, and that was a primary reason towards me.

I was honored to see him back in me to Blue House, the presidential office, you know, one

And there they discussed the meaning of the summit and the sunshine policy.
