How are you doing tonight, Aaron? Good, Justin. How are you feeling, though? I'm doing good. Glad to hear it. It's very productive today, so I always makes me feel better. Yeah, I feel productive, too, because I've actually been editing a lot today. Oh, that's normally my job. I'm

doing. Yeah, I know you do most of it, but for people that haven't edited audio, it kind of takes you in two directions. In one, you're thinking, I'm going to make this even better. And number two, it's almost like a struggle because your your brain almost wants to just zone out eventually because it can be very tedious. And we've already heard what's being said because you and I were there recording, right? Oh, yeah. I know my my ADD just kicks in anytime I'm editing, and I just want to wash dishes.

Or watch a TV show or something else. I just it's hard for me to focus on it, but I do enjoy making a sound better or making anyone sound better when I edit them because that's what it's all about is the

listenability for our audience. And if they heard the way we really talked, they'd be like, what are these guys saying? No, I don't know about all that, dude. I think we have our nights where we're on. But yeah, now and again, sometimes you and I will have an off night. And without the power of editing, might have to scrap an episode or two here or there. So absolutely.

So tonight's case, Aaron, lots of twists and turns, lots of suspects, lots of motives. But it's a terribly tragic story about a woman who is brutally murdered in her apartment.

And things are not as they seem. So with that, what are we talking about tonight?

We're talking about the December 15th, 2005 murder of Knowna Dirk Smirre in Russellville, Arkansas.

Knowna Dirk Smirre grew up in Dover, Arkansas. She was born on December 26th, 1985. And it was in her teen years when she moved to Russellville, Arkansas, which was about 20 miles away from her birthplace.

She was known for her singing talent. And she loved to sing musicals. She was also into opera.

She was known to be quiet and shy and had very few friends, but very close friends. But during high school, she met and started dating a boy named Kevin Jones.

This is a kid that seemed to have so much going for him. He was an all-American boy. He was into wrestling. He was a member of the Beta Club. He also played trumpet.

Knowna played flute. Kevin and Knowna had enough shared interest. They got along pretty well. One of their favorite pastimes, though, was just watching movies together.

So the thing is, though, they met and started dating young. So they had some tumultuous times where they would fight and break up, but then they would get back together.

And the two families got along. Knowna and Kevin's families knew each other and got along with each other.

But Knowna, while she seemed to be this great, happy, though quiet kid, she had kind of a troubled life, didn't she?

She would end up telling Kevin about how her father molested her when she was a very young girl. And that her family didn't know anything about it.
