It is easy to be discouraged, the news cycle unfortunately does provide us with so many minor tragedies.

Every lost kitten and every abused orphan in the world is now on my inbox it seems like.

But if we stand back a little bit, there is still all wonder, beauty,

and try as hard as humans might. We haven't wrecked the planet completely. We're trying our

darndest to wreck that planet, but here it is still thriving despite

everything we have done. So I do come into the narrative with a little bit of

optimism and even if I have private

pessimism at times nobody needs to endure that with me that's my own private

problem to deal with and night, means possibility, hope, joy.

Because the night is unknown, by definition,

every single thing we see is gonna be a surprise. I've reached the

point where I'm not afraid to be out at night and I know the right appropriate tools

so I might have an infrared imager with me depending what I'm doing or a couple of

spotlights but I'm happy just to walk by moonlight or even starlight and let the night

be the night and you're going to smell something fabulous you're going to see
